Let’s begin by making a distinction between “Refining” and “Extraction”.
Extraction is the art of removing the desired precious metals from the source where they are
found, and Refining, is the art of separating them, one precious metal from another. It is important
to learn to do this successfully by yourself, as anyone who has dealt with refiners can tell you…
because;
Refiners are often less than honest.
Refiners often remove and pay you for the “Target” metal...let’s say Gold, and keep the Platinum for
themselves...as you did NOT specify, nor PAY for that particular metal separation, even were you
aware of it being there.
Will use “Their” assay as a basis of payment.. irrespective of what the actual assay should have
been.
Employ “Creative” bookkeeping, piling on charges for services which one must do anyway in the
course of normal Refining.
Under-report actual extracted amounts, omit top-value results or simply steal from you outright.
Falsify records, reports, values and times or other results.
We too have been victim time and again from unscrupulous “Refiners”, often thinly disguised as
thieves...licensed and registered or not, from the biggest corporations, right down to the ”Fly-by-
night “ varieties that plague the industry today, worldwide. There is NO central place to go for the
average prospector, miner, processor or neutral party to get an honest assay from any one place
consistently.
As many Refiners demand a pre-ceding assay to engage their attention, even to get them to run your
materials, this can be a double burn, as you now must pre-pay for TWO assays as a starting point,
and then wait interminably for the results which will be most .....
