Reverse Leaching
Here you see our T-6 additive being used as a
leach, but made BASIC by the addition of Liquid
Sodium Hydroxide (common "Red Devil" Lye),
mixed in water,
the PH now being near 14. The ore in this case
responded better to reverse this leaching, than on
the acidic side. The amount of gold that came out
was near double!
The leach time for this sample, like most is done in about 60
minutes...then lengthened in other, similar samples, until we find just how
long is most productive....This is how we determine the most cost-efficient
method to leach the gold from the HEAD ORE...

The costings revolve around:

1. How long it takes
2. How much the leach reagent costs to do the job
3. Simplest methods
4. Time involved
Using Sodium Hydroxide to make the leach water PH 12 or higher,
add enough T-6 (1/4 cup per quart of water) and your finely ground
(200 mesh) ore sample of 32 grams, into a 2 quart enameled pan,
then place on a hot plate, at medium heat.
Gently boil the ore sample and above mix for about 30 minutes.
If gold is in there, it will turn a murky dark
GREEN.
Let settle, pour off the green liquid into a clean glass container.
Rinse ore and repeat, adding the liquids together.
Now add enough HCL acid to bring the PH up to 7.
The gold will fall out of solution as a dark brown powder.
Strain thru 2 coffee filters, dry.
It is now ready to be smelted.
